And praise God, we are blessed. What joy you have brought us. It's amazing. You were born on Sunday and today is Thursday. I haven't taken time to write on your blog, but I did write out your birth story. Your birth was so intense.
Since then Daddy has been home and a huge help to me. I have spent most of the time snuggling you and feeding you. Feeding is still quite uncomfortable but the only things I can see are anatomical issues. I am going to give it another week and then reevaluate the plan (ie: see if your labial frenulum needs to be clipped and if we need to do some suck training for your tongue.) I'm still dealing with oversupply so I'm pumping a tiiiiny bit to be comfortable. Tiny bit meaning short times but about 5 oz in about 5 minutes. Sad.
You are snuggly and wonderful. You don't mind the car and only cry when we're changing your diaper. We're using cloth diapers as of today and your little fluffy butt is super duper cute! You like to eat too much and then spit it back at me, something your sister never did. You are your own child.
Your sister is so stinkin' in love with you it's ridiculous. At the hospital she yelled at the nurse putting the security band on you - "Don't hurt my baby brother!" and she meant it. She told her friends Emmy and Bella "My mommy and daddy got me a baby!" That's how she sees it. You are her own little doll to hold and love and kiss. I know you two will be fast friends. We took you in to her school this week so she could show you off to her friends. She was beaming with pride.
You are a good sleeper. You sleep for a few hours, eat, poop and then sleep again. It's a bit rough relearning how to wake up from a dead sleep but it's a schedule I hope I can handle. It'll be a new game when all of my help goes away in a week (next week your aunts will be here to help most of the week.)
I love you so much more than I even thought possible. You are a blessing.
