Oh my, I hadn't cried about your birthday until now. Something about closing up your blog, finishing your first year here on earth, wow. It's just getting me now.
You had your first birthday party this weekend. We had it at church and blew up the inflatables. Almost 30 kids came and had a blast. They also decorated train cakes. It was so very fun. All of Mama's friends helped out last-minute because I caught your stomach bug two days before the party. Phew, that was awful. Nona made your birthday cake (a big train for the guests and a little train for you.) You ate the cake so happily! It was super cute. You received lots of toys for your birthday and your Grandma and Grandad outfitted you in a full 18-months wardrobe. We are very thankful for that!
When I look back at this year I can't believe how quickly it's gone. Getting to know you, Solomon has been one of my greatest blessings in life. Thank you for choosing me to be your mama. I love how you smile at everything. I love your curiosity for life. You want to know how things work and how to get into things and you really keep me on my toes. I knew I always wanted boys- even when Daddy and I were first married I would say "I can't wait to have a boy!" I didn't even know what a blessing it would be. I love watching your sister and you play. She is really fantastic at taking care of you and loves pretending to be your mommy. Of course, sometimes you are other characters in her games of house and you don't know it yet.
You love to play with remote controls and cell phones and you LOVE to bang things and make noise. You like to dance and clap. You always go chasing after balls but you haven't quite figured out how to throw yet. The time is coming, I'm sure.
I hope that you continue to grow and enjoy things as fresh and new as they are now. I hope you will always know that there is no where you can go or nothing that you can do to be outside of my love for you.
Love, Mama.
